As long as people can’t afford higher education, no one should be getting played to run fast with a ball. Student loans are a crippling part of my generation’s existence and the jocks are worried that they aren’t getting paid enough to throw a circle into a hole? If a student-athlete or mathlete can’t work while in school and the Pittsburgh Penguins Legends Team Player Signature Shirt scholarships only cover room board sometimes, not even that. I think compensation should be allowed. But you’re no longer an amateur in certain regards, like the Olympics for instance. Personally, if these college athletes want to get paid then they should have to foot their student college tuition.
